Summary | 0004465: DICOM Browser suddenly cannot load RT structure sets (Segmentation)
Description | After checking a whole lot of DICOM files of CT and MRI images + the respective segmentation and exporting them to .nrrd., suddenly this error keeps occurring: "Exception thrown in event: /Users/kitware/Dashboards/Nightly/Slicer-0-build/ITKv4/Modules/IO/ImageBase/include/itkImageFileReader.hxx:143: It happens with every RTstructure set file, even with files that were loaded properly before. As consequence no Segmentations are loaded. Reinstallation did not change anything. What can I do, to fix this? Thank you very much.

Can you provide more details: you have been running Slicer 4.6.2 with SlicerRT and at some point data that used to load no longer loads? Did you change anything in the Slicer installation? Did anything else on your machine change, like installing some other software package? Did you try the new Slicer 4.8 release with the latest SlicerRT? |

Thank you very much for your fast reply. Indeed the problem occurred suddenly while working on files, so I cannot identify any changes on the computer (its a mac). I reinstalled the nightly build 4.9 and the stable build 4.8, but no change. SlicerRT was always installed. I installed Slicer 4.8 with SlicerRT on a separate windows computer. Here it seems to work. Any idea how I could fix the problem on the mac. I am glad to provide more information as needed. |

Hmm, interesting - possibly something has changed an environment variable on your mac or otherwise interfered with the loading of the image reader libraries. That's why I suspected maybe another ITK based package or similar. Follow up questions: is it only the RT files that won't load? that is, do regular CT or MR files load okay? What format are they (dicom or other)? Could you try making another user account on the mac to see if it's your account or something on the computer? You could also try deleting the Slicer settings files (to find them see https://www.slicer.org/wiki/Documentation/Nightly/SlicerApplication/ApplicationSettings#Settings_file_location) |
