Summary | 0000403: crash/hang when loading older .mrml files
Description | I've got scene files saved from previous versions of 3.3 that will crash or hang recent (i.e. today, last few days) builds. I don't have an easy test case, just ones with many 100s of megabytes of data files. I'll see if I can scare up a small case Not sure what is going on here, but suspect it is something to do with the change in Fiducials being saved to fcsvs, etc. (all my examples have multiple Fiducial lists). I'll update this if ongoing updates change the behaviour.

Are you doing tractography? There is a hard-to-reproduce bug with old MRML files containing vtkFiberBundleNode and related DisplayNode things.. It seems to disappear and reappear in random builds and I have not been able to reproduce consistently enough to report. For example, 1/27 nightly crashes with my old scenes (not even very old, 0000001:0000001-2 weeks); but 1/22 does not. Removing the FiberBundle stuff usually makes it work ok (but I have not tried for these specific nightly builds). Anyway, hope this might be slightly helpful if you are otherwise unable to resurrect old scenes: try deleting the FiberBundle nodes (granted this is extreme...) |

I'm not doing tractography. These MRML files contain something like a dozen data volumes and half a dozen Fiducial lists (200 points or so). The files load fine in 3.2, and I scripted something to dump the fiducial points, so I am not losing anything completely. I probably should have mentioned that! |

It would be great to have a sample case if you can pull something together. If needed we can accept 100s of megabytes of test data :0 As long as it's okay for you to share the data... |

Closing. Slicer3 is not being developed anymore. |
