Summary0003745: Scene view thumbnail generation fails
Description

Scene view thumbnail generation fails and a question-mark icon appears in the list instead of the actual thumbnail.

These messages are logged:

ERROR: In ......\VTKv6\IO\Image\vtkPNGWriter.cxx, line 242
vtkPNGWriter (000000001C625F20): Unable to open file C:/Users/lasso/AppData/Local/Temp/Slicer/vtkMRMLSceneViewNode1.png

ERROR: In ......\VTKv6\IO\Image\vtkImageWriter.cxx, line 514
vtkPNGWriter (000000001C625F20): Ran out of disk space; deleting file(s) already written

I have several gigabytes of free space. The C:/Users/lasso/AppData/Local/Temp/Slicer/ directory exists, the vtkMRMLSceneViewNode1.png file is created, valid, readable png file with the correct content.

Win7 64-bit, latest Slicer nightly build

Additional Information

How to reproduce:

  • Start Slicer
  • Load MRHead sample
  • Go to SceneViews module
  • Create a new scene view => the thumbnail icon is not created (question-mark icon appears instead)
