Indeed, if a label has LUT with non-0 color assigned to 0 label value, then all pixels outside FOV for the label will be assigned that color. I attach 2 screenshots: same label, cropped, in the first case with the default LUT, in the second case with the DarkBrightChartColors LUT. Setting the label view mode to outline does not fix this, as all of the 0-label area is covered with the first color in LUT. I do not know if this behavior is intentional, but it looks like a bug to me. Maybe developers of this part of Slicer can comment.
