Summary | 0002793: duplicate non-functional slice controller popup
Description | During the RSNA 2012 visualization tutorial, I was helping one of the attendees and we notices that the red slice view had a 'pinned' slice controller popup that did not control the view. But mousing over the pin caused a new popup to appear, and that controller worked. It's possible that the first controller was pinned when the layout was changed.
Additional Information | Ron mentioned he may have seen this behavior when more than one slicer instance is running on the same machine, but it was too late to check this.

Note for developer: It might just be an "image" and not real gui elements. For animating the popup, the controller is copied into an image that is animated. For some reasons, maybe that image failed to be hidden. |

This still happens on all the windows machines we have tested. Here's a very simple way to reproduce it:
Tried this with nightly build of 2018-06-18 : COULD replicate on windows 7 64 with NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI accessed via remote desktop client. I will try this machine later today without remote desktop to see if that is related. Could NOT replicate the issue on windows 7 64 with NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M, directly accessing the laptop. |
Note: Will re-target to 4.4 if resolving issue 0003118 doesn't fix this one. |
Testing without remote desktop I could NOT reproduce. However the issue IS reproducible when accessing via a remote desktop so there is definitely still something wrong. Fixing the remote desktop use case is not strictly required, but I'd have a lot more confidence in the fix if it worked in all normal windows use cases. Specifically, the BWH neurosurgery group (Isaiah) uses remote desktop a lot. Issue 0003118 is more serious and should definitely be resolved before we do the release IMO. |
