Hi,

so I used yesterday to install windows 8 on a VM. I tried to download, install and run slicer. No joy. See attached. We will need to look into this, once the release is out.

There are problems with unpacking and with running. In the metro surface, you can not distinguish between two different nightlies.

From Ron: I did some more digging and it turns out that win 8 installed itself as 32 bit version on my machine, not 64 bit. I have now the dubious pleasure of interacting with their sales and support team trying to figure out how to get from 32 to 64 bit.

after installation of the proper version of windows I was able to run Slicer nightly win 64. The "unknown publisher" issue still needs to be addressed.

Remaining unsigned installer issue is tracked in 2697. Closing this so that we don't have two issues for tracking the same task.
