Summary0002075: Slicer factory - On Ubuntu 8.04 VM, X server is crashing causing build and test to fail.
Description

It complains with "cannot connect to X server :0" because the system is logged out .. and the auto login is not working.

Just restarted the Ubuntu VM. Also restarted a continuous build.

Seems that restarting the VM prevents the issue from repeating itself. Will confirm tomorrow.

Just disabled compiz and also unused Session process (sound manager, .. )

Problem still occurs after disabling Compiz.

Since there are no "AccelMethod" to disable in xorg.conf, let's install "slim" and use at as displayable manager. See [1]

In /etc/slim.conf, I set the default_user to be kitware and also added the option "auto_login". See [2] and [3]. Auto_login does NOT work :(

There are still issue even using Slim :(

The dashboard has been updated to Ubuntu 10.04. (Thanks Matt)

It's understood that the range of supported distribution has been reduced. We will be addressing issue on a case by case basis and act accordingly
