Description

Hello,

This is a feature request.

Is it possible to code a non-polyhedral ROI ? in addition to the existing standard three dimensional right-angled ones ?

The idea is to be able to set a fiducial list following a tubular structure, like an artery, and the algorithm would create a ROI n mm around the traced line.

This may allow finer segmentation of arteries in situations where there are many 'twisted' ones, like coronary angiograms ?

This seems ideal for a CLI that takes in a list of fiducials and outputs a label map.

Would the simple regiong growing segmentation module work for you?

I regularly use the simple region growing segmentation tool and it works great with polyhedral ROI with main 'straight' arteries. I am eager to use the same tool with 'hand traced' ROIs. Thank you for having considered the request.

SlicerIGT module's Markups to model can create models (either tubular or enclosing surface around all points). That can be imported into segmentation using Segmentations module's Import/Export section.
