Summary | 0001599: Default location for DICOM db is read-only on mac
Description | When Slicer is used for the first time, the DICOM location defaults to the /Volume with the unpackaged Slicer, which is read-only. If the user tries to load data, this will not work and lead to error. This happened at the booth at RSNA (our neighbor Pathak with colored tissue maps installed Slicer on his laptop). If it is not possible to initialize this to some write-able location, maybe there should be a popup info box asking user to initialize this directory? This issue is present in the stable build, and DICOM is the first module many users will use, so this is major IMO ....
