Switching from other modules into the Editor incurs a very noticeable lag, >1s.

I've noticed this too, but I think the issue is in the core, not in the editor itself....

Yes, the lag comes from the generation of the color table node combo box... (generating automatically the icons). It should be fasten.
It's noticeable also in the Volumes module and the Colors module

Is this resolved now? I don't notice a delay when switching into to the Editor.
