| Description | It would be great to have modules to convert to and from a volumetric mesh Model.
For example:
- volumetric mesh to surface mesh model would be easy using vtkDataSetSurfaceFilter or vtkGeometryFilter
- volumetric mesh to segment or label map (see about a segmentation representation?)
- volumetric mesh to scalar volume could be done by resampling the mesh within another volume bounds (dimension, spacing, offset). I have some code that does exactly that for a specific application with vtkProbeFilter, and takes care of applying the orientation from the MRML Node. ping me if you need my code.
- conversion from surface mesh or label map to volumetric mesh is less trivial, there are a lot of ways to do it. Previous modules did it different ways, we could import their work:
