Summary0000372: Improvements to individual volume Save dialog
Description

At the bottom of the Volume editor module, the Save option is presented. Two improvement requests for this dialog:

1) Please add list of supported file types to the Save box, or default to nrrd.

2) Make the dialog refuse to exit without actually saving the volume. Currently, a file extension must be entered in the "Select File" dialog box. Otherwise, clicking "Save" has no effect: the dialog box exits, but no file is saved. The dialog should prompt for an extension, or at least least assume nrrd -- rather than exiting without saving. It should not be possible to exit without saving unless the "Cancel" button is pressed.

Use File->Save as workaround?

We will remove the Volumes->Save tab.

Nicole will remove the Models save as well.

The Model->Save dialog does this too.

Not sure if this would be feasible or fit in the UI scheme: what about calling the File->Save dialog with only the current Volume/Model selected?

Also, the Volume and Model module/interfaces could benefit from tightening up the interaction between the separate tabs. At present they don't seem to be sychronized, or easily become decoupled. In the models editor especially, this decoupling is frustrating (I'll submit a separate note about this).
