I argue that this issue should not be low priority.

Grants are to a big part the reason why Slicer exists. Grant owners feel it is very important that the work they contribute as extensions are properly credited to their grants. Is it really so difficult to add this to the extension front page?

I find it is plain wrong that we have stars and download counts that are totally meaningless and invalid, but do not have information that is really critical and can hold back new contributions.

Waiting we improve the extension description format to explicitly support acknowledgment, the information can be added to the description
