When adding an annotation programatically, the Initialize method has to be called with the MRML scene to add the required display nodes so that visibility can be toggled.

Which Initialize are we talking about ?

Assuming the annotation logic listen for the node added, shouldn't this be enough ? The annotations module should really updated itself if node are updated externally.

What changes would be required to ensure a "proper/more robust behavior" of the annotations logic and module ?
