There is a loss of information when saving a transformed .vtk image as this format doesn't support the concept of an affine tranformation from index space to physical space.
There is a warning in the documentation, but a run-time warning would be a helpful feature.

To reproduce this:
- download the MRHead dataset
- apply any rigid linear transform
- harden the transform
- save the volume as .vtk
- reopen the transformed volume and it appears elsewhere in space (not
in the original position and not in the desired tranformed position)
